A new shower, built to stay dry behind the tile

Out with the cracked tile and the stained grout. In with a shower that is waterproofed before a single tile goes on.

The short version

Most failing showers fail behind the tile, where water has soaked the wall. We take the old shower out, check and repair the framing, waterproof the new walls and pan, then tile it.

Choices you will make

  • Curb or no curb

A low curb, or a level entry if the floor allows it.

  • Niche and bench

A built-in shelf for bottles, and a seat if you want one.

  • Glass

A door, a fixed panel, or a curtain to keep it simple.

Before you ask

How long does it take?
About a week to ten days, depending on tile and glass.
Why does grout keep cracking?
Often the wall behind is moving or wet. North Texas clay soil can also move a slab.
Can you match my other tile?
Sometimes. If not, we pick something that works with it on purpose.
